Our client seeks a motivated, well-rounded Commercial Banker in East Bethel, MN. This position is key to supporting the bank's mission to foster local economic growth by building and maintaining strong relationships with business clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business lending and relationship management, a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a community-focused environment, and a well-rounded credit skillset.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Business Development:
- Identify and cultivate new commercial banking relationships within the East Bethel community and surrounding areas.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new business clients and cross-sell banking products and services.
- Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of business clients, delivering tailored financial solutions.
- Build long-term relationships by understanding client needs and providing ongoing support and advice.
- Lending:
- Evaluate, structure, and approve (within delegated authority) commercial loan applications.
- Conduct credit analysis, assess financial statements, and perform risk assessments to ensure prudent lending decisions.
- Monitor loan performance and manage portfolio risk.
- Community Engagement:
- Actively participate in local events, organizations, and initiatives to represent the bank and build relationships within the community.
- Act as a trusted advisor and resource for local businesses.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including credit analysts, retail banking, and treasury management, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Demonstrated depth of experience in commercial banking, business lending, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices, including financial analysis, credit structuring, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Familiarity with the East Bethel, MN, market and local business community is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and banking software systems.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for serving the community.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
