Join an innovative engineering team in a brand-new role utilizing UI/UX programming and IoT to enhance customers' building automation and efficiencies!

The Systems Engineer will develop and implement cutting-edge Smart Building control systems for clients. This role is crucial in assessing and designing control retrofits that give customers a high return on investment. As one of the primary technical system engineers, the individual will create and document design plans, collaborating with various teams to ensure successful project installations. The position will involve but is not limited to integrating different building control systems and using in-depth knowledge of HVAC, lighting, and automation to create cost-effective solutions for large-scale clients while also gaining a deep understanding of current business processes and tools.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to design and develop control systems for various projects.
  • Create technical requirements for projects and programs.
  • Program primary and field controllers.
  • Develop and program user interfaces (UI).
  • Contribute to controls proposals as part of daily operations.
  • Maintain a library of standards and best practices.
  • Integrate systems using a variety of protocols, including basic software.
  • Ensure seamless integration and technical compliance of technologies.
  • Support internal and external IT networking teams.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a systems engineer or integrator, with proficiency in at least one controls platform.
  • 5+ years of experience in the building automation systems industry.
  • Extensive background in HVAC Automation/Controls Engineering or Data Analytics.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets. Experience in creating technical shop drawings, including riser diagrams.
  • Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Lighting, and Hardware Systems.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with both hardware and software.
  • Experience integrating computer programs.
  • Familiarity with Niagara software (N4 preferred) and coding languages such as JavaScript and HTML.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and similar tools to create shop drawings is a plus.
  • Knowledge of LED lighting, HVAC systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS) operations.
