Our exciting client seeks an experienced Safety professional who is a great relationship builder, client-focused, self-motivated, well-organized and provides exceptional follow-through.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to help them drive a strong safety culture.
- Respond to customer questions on safety/environmental compliance issues
- Conduct pictorial safety audits at assigned manufacturing facilities, noting state and/or federal OSHA regulation violations based on industry
- Develop customized safety programs and training modules for clients from available training modules
- Proficiently conduct safety training at client's facility.
- Participate in client's Safety Committee meetings to provide direction and advice
- Complete PPE, chemical, and guarding audits
- Provide OSHA Compliance onsite support when OSHA Compliance Officer is conducting a facility inspection
- Build rapport and trust with manufacturing workers and management
- Participate in informal conferences with OSHA in contesting citations
- Provide knowledge of crane handling
- Provide direction and inspection of the SDS process
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of background in safety-related construction or manufacturing experience
- Safety BA or MA degree, or safety management background a plus (safety certifications CHST, OHST ASP, CSP)
- Or (2) a BA degree with two years of direct safety experience in manufacturing
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards for general industry
- Ability to investigate accidents to identify where basic controls need to be implemented to reduce or eliminate risk
- Basic working industrial hygiene knowledge to identify obvious hygiene issues in the client's facility
- Vast knowledge of the manufacturing industry
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong intercommunication skills: working with diverse personalities from management to line level
- Ability to present compliance training in a positive manner
- A clean driving record, a current license, and the ability to properly operate a vehicle are required for driving clients to conduct consulting work
- Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and iAuditor/Procore is ideal
