Our client is restructuring its sales team and changing its previous approach of promoting internally and maintaining mediocre sales performance. The role is critical to their growth strategy, as they want to scale their operations and replicate successful sales processes. They seek a talented salesperson to manage existing business and develop new business opportunities. This new position is a commercial and industrial sales role, not residential sales. Candidates must have 3-10 years of experience and be able to handle technical aspects of sales, including creating quotes, processing orders, and understanding project details. The successful candidate will be an individual contributor reporting to the fractional VP of Sales.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage and Grow Accounts: Cultivate relationships with existing commercial and industrial clients, ensuring exceptional service while identifying opportunities for account expansion
- Develop New Business: Proactively target and engage potential customers, including mechanical contractors and end-users like apartment complexes and industrial companies, to grow the company's sales footprint
- Technical Sales Expertise: Handle the sales process end-to-end, including creating quotes, processing orders, and understanding technical project specifications
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with the fractional VP of Sales and internal teams to align strategies, leverage new technologies, and contribute to the company's scalable growth initiatives
Required Skills & Experience:
- Commercial and Industrial Sales Experience: 3-10 years of proven success in sales, ideally within water treatment, chemicals, or related industries
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand project specifications, create accurate quotes, and navigate complex sales processes with technical details
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Must have excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration abilities and thrive in a small company environment
- Self-Motivated and Goal-Oriented: Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth in a performance-based role.
