Sales Estimator (ID:46131)
This exciting role will support our client's expanding full-service lumber yard and sawmill operation. This office-based position involves estimating jobs, creating bids, coordinating with shipping and receiving, and potentially handling purchasing duties. If you have experience in sales and estimating within the lumber industry and want to make an impact, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The Sales Estimator role is to estimate lumber projects, prepare detailed bids, and work closely with clients to ensure accurate job specifications. The successful candidate will also coordinate with the shipping and receiving teams to manage product deliveries and, ideally, handle purchasing tasks from wholesalers. You'll visit job sites for walkthroughs and assist in selection meetings with builders and clients, providing expert advice on lumber products and solutions.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed estimates and bids for lumber projects, ensuring accuracy and meeting client specifications.
  • Coordinate with shipping and receiving teams to manage inventory, deliveries, and scheduling.
  • Work closely with builders and clients during selection meetings, offering expertise on lumber products and solutions.
  • Potentially handle purchasing duties from wholesalers, depending on experience.
  • Conduct occasional site visits for framing and door walkthroughs to assess project needs.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in sales and estimating within the lumber or construction industry.
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to calculate material quantities and read blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using software like QuickBooks for market tracking and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication and strong client-facing skills, particularly with builders and contractors.
  • Expereince with purchasing from wholesalers and knowledge of lumber products and industry trends is preferred but not required.
