We are seeking a Network Administrator to join our client's IT team and take responsibility for deploying, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. The ideal candidate will possess skills in server/systems administration, strong technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and a focus on delivering excellent service to internal users.
- 5 days a week on-site (not a remote or hybrid position)
- $70-95K salary range
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Continuously monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth operations.
- Enforce network security measures to safeguard data integrity, including firewalls, VPNs, and threat detection systems.
- Oversee user access controls and permissions to maintain a secure network environment.
- Perform regular system updates, security patches, and preventative maintenance.
- Work closely with IT teams to integrate networking solutions with cloud environments, virtualization, and server infrastructure.
- Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for network architecture, policies, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Research and recommend upgrades, enhancements, and emerging technologies to optimize network performance.
- Offer technical guidance and support to end-users and internal teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- At least five years of experience managing and maintaining enterprise networks, with expertise in Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, cybersecurity principles, and industry best practices.
- Hands-on experience with networking hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in managing firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networking solutions.
- Experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Network+ are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
