Optimize manufacturing operations across the organization. This position will examine existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and design and implement new processes to meet operational needs. Accountable for ensuring timely communication to production regarding any changes or innovations in the process. Provide data analysis on business processes through data captured in ERP system, documenting data through KPI metrics and tracking.

Assist the Engineering Team, responsible for designing and creating engineering documents based on given specifications, used to create products within the associated production process. Perform engineering functions required to assist with improving existing products and their related manufacturing processes through observations and analysis. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Interact with other departments, such as customer service, sales, etc., for product training, design, and support.
  • Review and analyze the performance of various procedures within the company and make recommendations for improvements.
    • Calculate, analyze, and update metrics and KPIs throughout the organization.
      • Monitor, measure, and report on production-related process performance and general issues to enhance product quality and maximize efficiency.
    • Assess and develop existing manufacturing processes and equipment to maximize efficiency, enhance safety, and improve quality.
      • Throughout the development and modifications to the processes, assemble the participation of the affected employees and include their feedback and ideas.
      • Ensure equipment functionality by resolving production equipment problems quickly and effectively to achieve production objectives and requirements.
  • Support efforts to create and sustain a waste-reduction culture, as well as to improve product and process quality on a continuous and sustained basis.
    • Create and maintain product history and testing databases (materials, wear life, performance, manufacturing time, etc.).
    • Analyzes product failures during the production process and/or in the customer’s field application to determine causes and present solutions to failures.
    • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency and safety.
  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in Lean and Six Sigma projects focused on improving products and quality systems.
  • Support distribution of manufacturing operations, strategy, control systems, tools, and metrics to accurately measure progress and identify root causes of failure modes, production capacity, and quality.
  • Research and implement capital projects through sound project management and coordination of resources.
  • Oversee and perform experimental manufacturing and testing of the product.
  • Set targets and strategies and schedule various projects to achieve set goals in manufacturing.
  • Design, create, and update drawings manually and using a computer-aided drafting system.
    • 90% using AutoCAD Autodesk 2022 [2-Dimensional]
    • 10% using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2021 [3-Dimensional].
  • Enter, purge, and maintain data within different documents and systems.
    • Part Number Creation in an ERP System (Infor XA).
    • EXCEL Tooling List Updates/Entries, Data Analysis
    • Costing Documentation of Part Numbers.
  • Visit customer and vendor sites, if applicable.
  • Assist in training, guidance, and coaching employees consistently and constructively.
  • Attend meetings as required and complete the necessary paperwork, reports, and support functions.
  • Participate in the company’s annual capital budgeting process.
  • Visit customer and vendor sites.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or AA.
  • 2 + years of experience within a manufacturing environment.

Base annual salary: $75,000 - $85,000.
