Interim Human Resources Director (ID:46365)

Our client seeks an Interim Human Resources Director to provide strategic HR leadership at a pivotal time for a large higher education institution. This role oversees all core HR functions, offering guidance and support during a transitional period. Worksite Location: St. Paul, MN – Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week). Only Minnesota/Twin Cities based candidates will be considered. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily HR operations, ensuring the smooth delivery of HR services and support to employees and leadership
  • Partner with senior leaders to align HR strategies with organizational priorities and objectives
  • Guide and mentor the HR team, fostering collaboration and professional growth
  • Drive improvements in HR processes, systems, and policies to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations, providing expert advice on HR best practices
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations initiatives to meet organizational needs
  • Act as a bridge while searching for a permanent HR leader, ensuring continuity and stability

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong leadership experience across core HR functions, including employee relations, benefits, compensation, and recruitment
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with leadership and teams to drive HR initiatives
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms is preferred but not required
  • Experience in higher education or mission-driven environments is a plus
