Steady & Culture-Forward Manufacturing Firm in Anoka Seeking HR Manager for an exciting opportunity.

We are searching for a Human Resources Manager to lead and direct the Human Resources (HR) department and include HRBP with the company's leadership teams. This is a hands-on role with responsibilities for central HR functions, including administering compensation, benefit programs, employee engagement, wellness, performance management, recruitment and onboarding, and administration of company policies and practices. 

Worksite Location: Anoka, MN (Onsite Role)


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and termination of employees by company policies.

  • Review all disciplinary action for fairness and consistency.

  • Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the company.

  • Contract with outside vendors to provide safety and benefits, consultation, training resources, vending services, and recruiting services.

  • Recommend and generate new policies and procedures.

  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Lead the compensation program, evaluate internal salaries and wages to ensure pay equity, and conduct wage surveys to ensure market competitiveness.

  • Manage and make recommendations for the company benefits programs such as life, medical, dental, STD & LTD insurances, flexible spending program, retirement plan, PTO, leaves of absence, and EAP.

  • Monitor and support the company retirement plan; serve as a member of the investment policy committee and advise on changes and improvements within the plan.

  • Manage and mentor the human resources staff of 2, including overseeing the department's daily workflow.

  • Drive the recruitment process, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding qualified job applicants for exempt and non-exempt roles; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Advance the company employee wellness program; establish plans and events that promote employee wellness and health.

  • Manage the use and integrity of the HRIS as a tool for enhanced services and reporting for supporting business activities.

  • Provide accurate and timely report generation to assist internal customers with their data requirements. Partners with our HRIS system provider to enhance and drive internal 

  • Manage and oversee the payroll functions by reviewing the weekly payroll to ensure accuracy, interacting with employees to respond to payroll questions, extracting payroll information, and updating employee information in the system.

  • Ensure company policies and procedures comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including, but not limited to ADA, EEO, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, and OHSA, along with related compliance filings for accuracy and timeliness. 

  • Manage the worker's compensation and company safety program. Responsible for accident investigation and preparation of workers' compensation claims 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field required

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a human resources environment, with business partnership experience in a manufacturing setting.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience leading a team of human resources professionals.

  • PHR or SPHR designation is preferred but not required. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills 

  • Leadership characteristics including self-motivation, confidence, intelligence, a team-oriented attitude, and a high level of positive energy.

  • Proven ability to manage highly confidential HR information. 

  • Demonstrate a high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience and knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Solid computer proficiency and technical aptitude with business software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems.
