Join a growing, family-oriented company as an HR Consultant to drive essential HR initiatives and support long-term strategic planning.

An exciting opportunity for an HR Consultant to work with a small, dynamic team, supporting key HR initiatives and shaping the future of a high-impact company. This 4–6-month hybrid role will allow you to work closely with leadership to optimize HR processes and create a positive workplace culture.

Worksite Location: St. Paul, MN – Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week). Only Minnesota/Twin Cities based candidates will be considered. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to build and maintain a healthy, engaged company culture, ensuring employees feel valued and supported.
  • Review and update the Employee Handbook, ensuring compliance with state, local, and OSHA regulations. Provide leadership with guidance on minimizing legal risks and conduct training to ensure proper language use in difficult situations.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of sales team compensation, aligning it with industry standards and financial goals. Provide resources for updating compensation strategies and managing benefits.
  • Assist in developing long-term succession planning, creating strategies for leadership transitions, and supporting 1-5 year planning efforts.
  • Provide objective insights into team dynamics and problems while training leadership on handling difficult conversations and improving performance management processes.
  • Identify and implement improvements to HR processes related to onboarding, employee separations, and overall efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of HR experience in small to mid-sized organizations.
  • Proven track record in leading HR structure development, compensation reviews, and compliance.
  • Strong expertise in succession planning and helping organizations prepare for leadership transitions.
  • Ability to effectively train and mentor leadership teams on communication, performance reviews, and difficult conversations.
  • Experience working with small sales organizations and understanding their compensation dynamics is preferred.
