The Ecommerce Account Manager (digital retail expert) will lead the execution of brand strategy and drive growth across all brands in the pet food industry's fastest-growing channels. The Ecommerce Account Manager will be responsible for executing business, media, marketing, and the day-to-day management of online customer accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the pet industry and be skilled in building relationships, driving growth, and achieving ambitious targets.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain key customer relationships:
- Act as the primary contact for the online retailer's customer accounts, ensuring high service levels, support, and communication.
- Negotiate agreements, contracts, and promotional terms that align with company goals and maximize shelf presence.
- Own the ecommerce short and long-term strategies to accelerate and scale profitable growth.
Drive growth and increase brand awareness:
- Collaborating with internal business partners and implementing effective marketing strategies to drive business growth and increase brand awareness.
- Craft and deploy:
- On-site advertising strategies by coordinating with agency and customer partners.
- Off-site media partnerships to drive and convert new user traffic.
- Promotional activations and event sponsorships throughout the year.
- Using keyword research, sales analytics, and tracking tools, identify other areas of opportunity to increase traffic and conversions.
- Identify other customer-centric opportunities that can be addressed through innovation and collaboration with the retail partners.
Manage internal capabilities to support growth:
- Coordinate and align with the demand planning and supply teams to ensure they're always in stock, shipped on time, follow EDI and processing requirements, and regularly manage and minimize chargebacks.
- Manage marketing and co-op budgets to achieve growth and profit goals.
- Based on initiatives, create forecasts for the channel, including new item launches. Coordinate with the internal team to ensure cohesiveness with the overall business plans.
Communicate results:
- Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual updates, including tracking for sales and e-commerce pillar metrics.
- Research and publish weekly or monthly reports to Senior Leadership.
Assist in developing market trends & consumer insights:
- Stay current with market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities within the pet food industry.
- Utilize market insights to adapt strategies, support product innovation, and recommend pricing and promotional tactics adjustments.
- Develop consumer and retailer insights to develop new insights into shopping behavior and product development.
Required Skills and Experience:
- BS/BA required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or Business.
- 5-8+ years' experience in shopper marketing, ecommerce, Chewy, Target, Walmart and/or Amazon retail account experience preferred.
- Great attitude with an understanding that energy and attitude impact performance.
- Strong brand-building experience combined with previous success creating an exceptional digital customer shopping experience.
- Critical thinker with strong, proven analytical skills.
- Preferable experience in managing marketing P&L and exceeding targets and KPIs within planned expenses.
- Ability to successfully partner with multiple stakeholders and thrive in a fluid environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience in the pet food industry or related consumer goods sector.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics tools and platforms such as Stackline.
Salary range: $120k-$140k
Position location: Remote w/ 10% travel
