Design and coordinate the control and electrical functions associated with the concept, design, detail, assembly, and debugging of standard and custom equipment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of electrical schematics. (AutoCAD Electrical).
- Preparing electrical panel layouts and creating electrical parts list for custom and standard products as assigned. (SolidWorks).
- PLC programming of equipment. May include design and documentation of PLC programs (Experience with RSLogix500, Studio 5000, and/or Siemens S7 series preferred).
- Operator interface programming as required.
- Follow-up service of machinery at customer locations for installation assistance and/or customer training. Also, responding to requests for phone, email, or online services [may require domestic or international travel up to 20%].
- Assisted with wiring, cable routing, marking, and machinery inspection in the assembly department.
- Commissioning of electrical components and machine functions during the assembly portion of assigned projects.
- Maintain professional customer relations and help to ensure customer satisfaction with our products.
- Prepares reports as required by management. (Must be proficient with basic Microsoft Office software).
- Assists in the preparation of technical machinery information, including operations manuals, electrical specifications, field service reports, etc.
- Analyzes and resolves technical electrical problems or assists colleagues in solving technical electrical problems.
- Instructs electrical assembly area in wiring issues and panel layout.
- Works on CE and UL certification as required. (understanding of 508A, NFPA70 and NEC standards for industrial control panel design).
Required Skills & Experience:
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and 5 - 7 years related experience or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 3– 5 years related experience, training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in programming is required.
- SolidWorks and AutoCAD Electrical experience are required.
- Ideal, but not required, UL and/or CE experience.
- Ability to travel 20%
Salary: 100-125K DOQ
