The Controller will oversee the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of effective financial controls. This role is integral to our strategic growth and requires a strong background in manufacturing accounting and experience with private equity environments.

 

Worksite Location: This is an onsite position in Champlin, Minnesota.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cost accounting.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including private equity partners.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual budget and forecasting process.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to senior management and private equity partners to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial partners.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Support M&A activities, including due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition accounting.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is required.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Epicor is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
