The Billing Manager's role is to provide leadership to the internal billing team by developing a consistent and accurate billing process. This includes developing processes to ensure correct information is entered into the company's selected systems, prompt billing procedures, and an organized approach to billing within the company.

Worksite Location: This is an on-site position in St. Paul, MN.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine billing department processes and procedures
  • Inform the President and SVP of any significant issues on the Billing Team
  • Train team members on updated processes and retrain as appropriate, based on the internal "Biller Productivity" report
  • Responsibility for the overall Team's results and achievement of assigned and communicated objectives
  • Effectively prioritize a large volume of billings and adjustments to meet month-end close deadlines with minimal to no errors
  • Coordinate with Regional Billing Supervisors to appropriately assign and/or re-assign team members for departmental goals
  • Communicate with the President, SVP, RVP's, EVP's effectively on the achievement of goals, opportunities for improvement, and issues
  • Manage Regional Billings Supervisors effectively by providing regular feedback, performance reviews, and one-on-one meetings to include weekly (at minimum) team meetings and regular communication with the Team and individuals
  • Appropriately manage and oversee team members by following company policies and practices to positively foster training, retraining, coaching, discipline, etc.
  • Prepare reports as requested or assigned by leadership
  • Review Regional team performance of Billing and Booking aspects for the following types: SEI, Dayworks, Inspections, Services, Agreements, internal billing and customer web portals
  • Monitor billing processes, dashboards, and reports for the regional teams and overall Department
  • Monitor Helpdesk tickets for timely completion and resolution
  • Manage escalations and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Review the regional Team's successful completion of billing performed through customer web portals
  • Ensure regional team completion of all credit and/or rebills for assigned branches
  • Ensure proper communication with internal customers to find missing information and/or reports required to complete work
  • Ensure accuracy throughout with acute attention to detail
  • Approve timesheets and PTO for direct reports
  • Assist AR team with dispute resolution
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, and/or equivalent experience; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Management preferred
  • 3-5 years of customer service and billing experience required
  • 3-5 years of professional computer skills required; proficiency in Office 365 preferred
  • 3-5 years of supervising multiple team members required
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English with employees, customers, subsidiary leadership, and corporate leadership
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
