Versique Search & Consulting Client, Astera Health, Hires Shelly Gompf as Chief Operating Officer/Vice President of Human Resources
Versique Search & Consulting is excited to announce the recent placement of our candidate, Shelly Gompf, as Chief Operating Officer/Vice President of Human Resources with our client, Astera Health, in Wadena, Minnesota. Ms. Gompf will serve as a member of the hospital’s executive leadership team supporting the continued mission of the organization committed to improving the health of the communities they serve.
This newly created, and expanded, role will focus on strategy to further Astera Health’s growth and development and to succeed Teresa Johnson, current Chief Human Resources Officer, in anticipation of her retirement at the end of the year.
Ms. Gompf is a seasoned healthcare executive, having spent time at Alomere Health and serving as a consultant to various healthcare organizations. Most recently, Ms. Gompf was a Professor and Director of the Healthcare Leadership program at Concordia College, helping to develop future hospital leaders. Bringing a unique perspective as both an administrator and consultant, Ms. Gompf utilizes a dual-lens approach to organizational effectiveness, strategy, and operations to ensure key metrics are being met while upholding core values.
Ms. Gompf’s practical experience is complimented by a Doctor of Education in Leadership from Minnesota State University – Moorhead, a Master of Arts in Human Resources from Ottawa University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Concordia College. In addition to her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, Ms. Gompf is an avid community supporter and volunteer, serving on various Boards including St. Francis Health, a Common Spirit Critical Access Hospital in Breckenridge, Minnesota.
