Chief Ambulatory Officer (ID:45785)
This is an exciting hospital opportunity to lead the continued improvement and success of ambulatory operations, including primary care and specialty service lines, physician collaboration, and partnership while being a valued member of the hospital's Executive Leadership Team.

The CAO will help develop and drive strategic initiatives, utilize quality to ensure performance and outcomes and steward the organization's mission and values.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the smooth and efficient operation of key departments throughout the health system.

  • Integrate the strategic plan of the health system with operations.

  • Provides management oversight for developing and implementing diversified, high-quality, cost-effective, and integrated clinical programs designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, staff, and the community.

  • Regular contact with physicians.

  • Build relationships, monitor performance, and take action when needed.

  • Focus on reducing cost, streamlining services, and developing new service lines.

  • Work to ensure the organization has proper operational controls and people systems to grow effectively and ensure its financial strength and operating efficiency.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Org. Leadership, etc.

  • FACHE certification is strongly preferred.

  • Ten years of executive ambulatory operations experience in care delivery, ideally in rural healthcare.

  • Significant experience and success working and partnering with both employed and independent physicians.

  • Experience and success in developing new service lines and growing existing ones.

  • Experience using key metrics (KPIs, benchmarks, etc.) to drive organizational decisions.

  • Results-orientated. 

  • Focused on successful outcomes.

  • Ability to develop and mentor emerging leaders.

  • Strong, effective communication to "Meet people where they are."

  • Approachable, visible leader. 

  • Good listener.
