As the Sales Manager, you'll ideally bring expertise in seed sales, though related experience in agronomy or chemicals is also valued. Extensive experience in agriculture is also required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership: Drive sales efforts in the agricultural sector, managing individual sales responsibilities and overseeing a growing team, starting with one direct report.
- Team Building and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and expand the sales team, fostering growth and development within the team as the business scales.
- Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the agricultural industry, considering seasonal fluctuations, market trends, and customer needs.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build solid and lasting relationships with farmers and key stakeholders, understanding their challenges and providing solutions that align with their unique needs and the industry's changing landscape.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Agricultural Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the agricultural sector, with direct experience in seed sales preferred, though agronomy or chemical sales experience is also acceptable.
- Sales and Leadership Experience: Proven track record in managing sales efforts, with experience leading and mentoring teams, ideally in a player-coach role.
- Understanding of Agricultural Sales Dynamics: Familiarity with the seasonal nature of agriculture, including managing sales fluctuations and working with an aging customer base.
- Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Ability to develop and execute sales strategies, solve challenges creatively, and make impactful decisions to drive business growth.
